Children’s Services of Roxbury Launches $27 Million Plan to Transform Dudley Street Headquarters Into Community Hub

Children's Services of Roxbury has started a major transformation of its Dudley Street headquarters, launching a $27 million project that will turn the 46,000 square foot building into a broader community hub. More than 80 community members, faith leaders and supporters gathered for an interfaith blessing ceremony as the 54 year old nonprofit prepares for the renovation and the expansion of its services.

The project reflects the organization's long standing role in the neighborhood and its plan to offer more programs under one roof. Leaders described the blessing as a moment to honor the history of the building while looking ahead to what the renovated space will provide for families and residents.

The renovation is expected to modernize facilities and create room for expanded services that address the needs of the community. Supporters at the ceremony emphasized that the project is about more than construction. It is about creating a welcoming place where people can access help, gather and build connections.

The nonprofit has served the area for decades, and the headquarters upgrade is positioned as a step toward deepening that commitment. Work on the building is set to move forward as the organization continues fundraising and planning for the expanded programs the new space will house.
