The historic Waco property known as the Cottonland Castle has officially changed hands. Chip and Joanna Gaines have sold the famous stone structure for $2.7 million. The sale includes all of the furniture and decor seen in the finished home, meaning the new owners can move in without changing a single detail.
The couple purchased the castle in 2019 and spent years restoring it. The project became the focus of a television series called "Fixer Upper: The Castle," which showed the many challenges they faced while trying to preserve the building's original character. The castle was built in the late 1800s and had fallen into disrepair over the decades. Several previous owners had attempted renovations, but none managed to complete the work.
The Gaineses worked to honor the structure's history while adding modern comforts. The final result features updated kitchens and bathrooms alongside original stone walls and woodwork. The home sits on a large lot near downtown Waco and has become a local landmark.
The buyer's identity has not been made public. Real estate records show the deal closed recently after the property spent some time on the market. The sale marks the end of a major chapter for the couple, who have become known for their renovation projects across central Texas.
