A prominent mixed-use development in southeast Springfield has changed hands. Matt O'Reilly's Green Circle Projects has sold Farmers Park to Edgewood Real Estate Investment Trust, a firm based in North Dakota. The deal, finalized earlier this week, transfers ownership of the sprawling property located near the intersection of Republic Road and Glenstone Avenue.
Farmers Park has been a landmark project for O'Reilly, who developed the site over the past decade. The property blends retail spaces, office buildings, and residential units, creating a walkable hub that includes popular restaurants, a brewery, and boutique shops. The sale marks a strategic exit for Green Circle Projects, which had positioned the development as a model for urban infill in the region.
Edgewood Real Estate Investment Trust, known for its portfolio of commercial and mixed-use assets across the Midwest, plans to maintain the existing tenant mix while exploring enhancements to the property's common areas. Company representatives stated that the acquisition aligns with their strategy of investing in high-traffic, community-oriented developments.
Neither party disclosed the financial terms of the transaction. Local real estate analysts noted that the sale reflects ongoing investor interest in Springfield's growing southeast corridor, which has seen steady commercial and residential expansion. O'Reilly's Green Circle Projects will continue to manage other holdings in the area, including several nearby residential complexes.
