Week of June 29: Best residential property deals in Bureau County

A single-family home in Ladd that sold for $60,000 is leading the list of the best real estate deals in Bureau County for the past week. The property, located on the 200 block of North Main Street, offers three bedrooms and one bathroom across roughly 1,200 square feet. Built in 1910, the home sits on a quarter-acre lot and was sold as-is, making it a strong candidate for buyers looking for a fixer-upper at a low entry price.

Other notable bargains include a ranch-style house in Princeton on West Washington Street, which closed at $85,000. That property features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a detached two-car garage. In Spring Valley, a three-bedroom home on East Dakota Street sold for $72,500, offering a newer roof and updated windows. A small bungalow in Tiskilwa on South Main Street also made the list, selling for $55,000. It includes two bedrooms and a full basement.

Real estate agents in the area note that these lower-priced homes often attract first-time buyers or investors. Many require some work but come with lower property taxes and smaller down payments. The deals reflect a mix of rural and small-town properties where prices remain well below the national average. For buyers willing to invest in repairs, these sales represent some of the most affordable entry points in the county this summer.
